This 10 amp portable IC-CPD is designed for safe and compliant charging of electric vehicles fitted with a Type 1 inlet, making it well suited to Japanese imported used vehicles that are commonly supplied with Type 1 inlet. It is intended for everyday home charging as well as travel or backup use and is supplied with a total cable length of 7 metres, comprising a 1 metre inlet lead and a 6 metre vehicle charging cable.

The charger is switchable between 6A, 8A, and 10A, allowing the charging current to be reduced when using older wiring, shared circuits, or locations with limited power capacity.

Despite being an entry-level model, the unit incorporates full safety protection, including 6 mA DC residual direct current detection (RDCDD), allowing use with a standard Type A RCD where permitted. An integrated temperature sensor within the AU/NZ three-pin plug continuously monitors plug temperature during charging. If abnormal temperature rise is detected, charging is automatically interrupted to reduce the risk of overheating.

This charger operates as a Mode 2 IC-CPD and is designed in accordance with IEC 62752 requirements for portable EV charging equipment. The compact in-line control box provides simple status indication without a display, prioritising reliability and ease of use.

Rated for single-phase 230V operation, the charger delivers up to 2.3 kW at 10A and provides a practical and compliant charging solution for Type 1 electric vehicles.
